John Haime is President of New Edge Performance and a world-class performance specialist. He has a wide range of practical experience in high performance and leadership in the corporate sector, high-level professional sports and the arts.

From 1985 to 1991, John successfully competed on international golf tours in Canada, Australia, Asia, South Africa and the United States. Along with several professional victories, career highlights include a career low 62 in a professional event in Melbourne, Australia. Before turning professional he was one of Canada’s top amateur and junior golfers.

Following a successful career in professional golf, John began a career in international business with a leading Canadian Trade Policy Consulting firm. He specialized in international trade strategy, negotiation, and dispute resolution, making written and oral submissions to governments on behalf of Fortune 500 clients.

In 1997, John Haime created LearningLinks Inc. LearningLinks has developed a number of unique corporate performance solutions including Mastering the Game: Leadership Effectiveness at Work, In Life and In Golf. Mastering the Game was inspired by the international bestseller Primal Leadership (Goleman, Boyatzis, McKee) and integrates the power of leadership, performance, Emotional Intelligence and sport to maximize the potential of leaders and teams.

The programs have been delivered around the globe for the world’s top organizations. Clients include: Cisco Systems, Nortel, Bell Canada, General Electric, KPMG, Capital One, RBC, PSS World Medical, The Hay Group, GlaxoSmithKline and YPO. LearningLinks programs have helped companies worldwide enhance their team, performance and leadership capability.

John is a world-class specialist in the area of performance and one of the world’s leading authorities in Emotional Intelligence as it relates to performance in sport. He personally coaches top executives, executive teams, athletes and artists in a variety of performance areas. He is a sought after speaker by corporate and sports groups around the world.

John has been published in leading business, leadership and sport publications. His highly anticipated first book, You Are a Contender! Build Emotional Muscle to Perform Better and Achieve More … in Business, Sports and Life was released in December 2009 by Morgan James (New York). You are a Contender! became a bestseller in the United States in mid-2010.

He is a partner in the global leadership initiative “The Big Hook” (www.thebighook.org). The Big Hook prepares high potential global leaders to meet the emerging challenges of competing on a global stage.

In January 2010, New Edge Performance (www.newedgeperformance.org) was created to service a growing demand in the athlete market. Through “New Edge” John Haime works with some of the world’s leading professional and amateur athletes on mental/emotional development.

John has been selected as one of only 20 initial mentors in North America selected for the Viktre Athletes program (www.viktre.com). John mentors active & recently retired North American professional athletes & Olympians from sport to life after sport.

John himself has been mentored by some of the top industry leaders in leadership and high performance.

He lives in Ottawa, Canada with his wife and son. He is a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN USA.
